In the mist of all my projects and whatnot that I needed to do, I thought I'd have a little break and draw something fun. So here's a picture pertaining to a top 15 list of mine, "My top 15 favorate beings not of this earth" So sit back, relax and read about what aliens I think are great...
15. Marclar (From South Park) - Coming in at number fifteen are the lovable Smurf-esque creatures from South Park. I ean they're "Smurf-esque" by the fact that these guys replace every person, place or thing with the word "Marclar", and to me, "Marclar" is a funny sounding word.
14. Chode (From Tripping the Rift) - First, let me clear something up. I DESPISE Tripping the Rift. I don't think it's funny, creative, shocking, or even interesting. I think it's actually quite sad. But, dammit, I like Chode, it's main character! Why? Several reasons. I like him because he's surley, mean, and he hates the rest of the supporting cast, like I do. The fact that he's so un-alien makes me love the guy. And the fact that he's played by Stephen Root just sweetens the deal. I could go into a long rant about how much I hate the show that he's on, but that'll go on my "50 things that piss me off" list...
13. The Mu-tant (from This Island Earth) - Just look at this guy! He's AWESOME!
12. Dr. Zoidburg (From Futurama) - Again, I'm not a big Futurama fan, but I do like Zoidburg. His pathetic luck and quirky mannerisms make him sidewalk his way into my heart.
11. E.T. - HOME! HOME! OUCH!! C'mon, how can you NOT like this little guy? He actually looks like a guy I went to school with, weird...
10. Jabba the Hut (From Star Wars) - As sick as I am of Star Wars, I gotta love Jabba. He's just creepy and slimy enough to make me like him. Ho. Ho. Ho.
9. El Chupacabra - A mexican legend who apparently has a name that translates to "goat-sucker". C'mon, you know that's awesome.
8. Jawa (from Star Wars) - Jawas are awesome! With their simplicity of what they are, I always liked seeing them.
7. Alien (From the Aliens movie series) - The ultimate space-age horror, the Aliens are always cool to see gouge out brains and dissolve body parts with their acidic blood, and to me that ranks a 14 on my Kick-Ass-O-Meter.
6. Predetor (From the Predetor movie series) - Again, an intergalactic badass. With super-cool armor and awesome weapons to boot, these space hunters always know the score. Why did I place them above the Aliens? Because they won.
5. Audrey II (From the Little Shop of Horrors) - This dude scared me when I was little, especially after he chomped Steve Martin. But now he's cool. There aren't to many carnivorous aliens that can carry a tune either.
4. Chewbacca (From Star Wars) - Again with the Star Wars creatures, Chewie's one of the aliens from the films that I can actually impersonate. And who doesn't enjoys his famous growl?
3. Roger (From American Dad) - Say what you want about American Dad, I love Roger! Like Chode, I like him because he's so un-alien like. If he had appeared on the show saying crap like "DESTROY ALL HUMANS!!" or something, I would have kicked the asses of the first seven people I saw. But no, he's loud, annoying, and quirky in such a human way, he could've easily been designed to be a person. But he's not, and that's why I like him.
2. Kang and Kodos (From The Simpsons) - These guys always make me laugh, but unlike Roger, it's because they're on the different end of the stick. They're SO stereotypically alien and hearing stuff like that come out of the great voices provided by actors Harry Shearer and Dan Castellaneta, it's always a delight to see them every Halloween show.
1. Alien Hominid (From the video game, Alien Hominid) - Talk about your underdogs, hands down, Alien Hominid is possibly one of my favorate games ever. It follows the old mentality mastered by our favorate Super Nintendo games like Contra and Ninja Turtles, where it's go from one end of the 2D level to the other, destroying everything in your path. Ahh.. they don't make em like this anymore, now it's all first-person shooting. And the fact that it's done in the cartoony style of Dan Paladin also makes me love it. He has a remarkably simplistic, even cute style that's just perfect with the game. Oh, and I like his design too, I wouldn't imagine something that adorable to bite off someone's head, but it happens! Oh and to anyone, at least rent Alien Hominid, it's a kick ass game!
That's about it for my favorate aliens. Enjoy the picture!
nice pic. i still think Tripping the Rift is awesome but you've got your opinions and i've got mine. you know i could go on ranting about how much i hate the Simpsons but again i cant change you and you cant change me!
Heh-heh, this is awesome! I'll have to show this to my brother (he loves aliens even more than I do!). I think it's great that you included Chode, even though you don't like Tripping the Rift, and the part about E.T. resembling a kid you went to school with was funny.
I love your style and the shadows. Very cool.
